All along, i have always 'envied' pastors and leaders who could read one verse from the bible and could explain from it. I mean, when i read the bible, most of the time, it doesn't make sense in the natural, and some of them are like stories, a long list of name, or events. i'll write an example:

Nehemiah 1

1 The words of Nehemiah son of Hacaliah:
In the month of Kislev in the twentieth year, while I was in the citadel of Susa, 2 Hanani, one of my brothers, came from Judah with some other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant that survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem.
3 They said to me, "Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire."

4 When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven."

Okay, tell me what do read from these verses? Most of the time, we would read it as a story, but there's where it gets wrong! It not a mere story but itself, it was what really happened during that period of time. Seriously, tell me, when you read it, what does it tell you? *i'll let you ponder upon it first*

So yea, one day i asked God, why those pastors and leaders could understand the verse from another point of view? what is the key of understanding the meaning behind those Words of Your? How can i achieve that? *a moment of silence* And i heard the word, "listen", it was a still small voice. And i understood what 'listen' actually meant...

Many times, when we 'spend' time with God, many times it was out of a 'duty' or 'habit', but thats the thing that makes us blind. Each time we draw close to Him, we need and should have the desire to learn, to understand and to hear the heartbeat of God. Listen, i tell you, listen... what do we listen to everyday? Jokes? Complains? Swear words? "Rubbish in, rubbish out"... *ring* does it ring a bell? Seriously, we need to start listening encouragements, words of peace, of sound mind, of love, of grace, all in all, of God.

Now back to where i started. So the key of interpreting words of God is to listen, listen to what you may ask.. dear readers, listen to that still small voice. God's voice. You could be in your class, but there you can still talk to God, listen to Him, and He'll guide you. Provided that you so desire it la... God is a gentleman, He would give it to you only if you'd ask. He wouldn't force it down your throat.

Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Okay, now, from the verses i qoute-ed from Nehemiah 1, what have you heard from God? Please, do not read it merely as a story, from the verses, learn to apply it into your life. Ask that you'll be changed more and more to be a person who is after God's heart, a person who hears His heartbeat, a person who cares for what God cares about.

Lastly, i pray that whoever who reads these would be blessed and would be able to start a new journey, which is more exciting, alongside with God.
